Here’s a great sampling from an early ’80′s TV show, “Not Necessarily the News.” Considered innovative and offbeat at the time, NNTN went where no sketch comedy show had gone before with the first sketch in this segment, “Star Trek: The Beat Generation.”

Mystery Science Theater 3000 – bad movies made good

From the vault… If you were young and lucky enough to be living in America in the 1990′s then you very well may get misty-eyed any time someone mentions “Mystery Science Theater 3000″ (MST3K, to those in the know). This offbeat TV program started as a local creation but eventually made its way to national television and even its own feature film. It was a viral video before there were viral videos. Here, one YouTuber has put together his (we think he’s a he) favorite moments from a few episodes. But be sure to drop by the MST3K web site http://www.mst3k.com where the show’s creators continue the goodness to this very day. Couldn’t you just cry?
